I think Boston has a solid chance at making a run for the Finals this season. They have looked good, their young squad has some solid playoff experience now, and I think this is the season that they finally make it over that last hump. Memphis who was struggling for a few seasons finally found some success last season, led by rookie Ja Morant. They only barely missed the playoffs after bubble play.
Boston is a strong team, they have all the tools they need to be successful, but for some reason, they haven’t put it together this season. After their season opener victory over the Bucks, I thought the Celtics looked really good.
I feel like this is a rather easy pick. Boston has a solid offense and will score points against Memphis, even without Kemba Walker. Memphis, on the other hand, just lost their top scorer in Ja Morant and will be looking to fill that void for the coming weeks, and I don’t think it happens in this game. More importantly,Boston’s biggest weakness is defense, but I don’t think Memphis has the players available to expose those weak spots. On the other end, Memphis has a bad defense as well, and I see Boston exploiting it. The bottom line is, injuries have ruined this game, and I think Boston will run away with this game.Anytime a team loses their starting PG to injury it will take adjusting, as the entire offense runs through the PG. On top of that, when your PG scores a solid amount of points or is your main scorer in Memphis’ case, you are bound to score less
