NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers - Utah Jazz
- Title : NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers - Utah Jazz
Jazz might be in the midst of a road trip, but they are playing good basketball and had the day off on Monday. Cleveland had to play Monday night and now has to turn around and play again on Tuesday night. Donovan Mitchell is by far the best player on the court. Conley is doing a great job as a distributor and the Jazz play solid defense. Cleveland plays a similar style to the Jazz, but the Cavaliers are not nearly as good at it.
Cleveland has managed to hold both of their previous opponents well under their season scoring averages. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have struggled on offense with so many injuries. With all of these factors weighing on this game
This one’s a no brainer. Cleveland’s roster has been decimated by injury, which is bad enough. But, the Jazz present a difficult matchup on the boards for the Cavaliers. Utah is third in the league in offensive rebounding percentage, while Cleveland is 30th in the league in defensive rebounding percentage. The question is how much will the spread be? Cleveland has lost by 10 in each of their last two games, but this one could be a little more lopsided as the Cavs are on the second game of a back-to-back.
The Cavaliers got off to a surprising hot start by winning their first three games, but they’ve gone just 2-6 since then. The offense has been a complete disaster, as they’ve failed to score 100 points in any of their last eight games. In the 2020 NBA, that’s pretty hard to pull off. Now going up against a stout Jazz defense, I don’t think their offensive woes are going to get any better. All six of their losses this season have come by at least nine points, so I don’t have any concerns with laying this many points with Utah here. The Jazz just beat the Bucks by 13, so I don’t think they’ll have much trouble beating the Cavs by double digits.I’m taking Utah big in this one.
