NBA: Los Angeles Clippers - Oklahoma City Thunder
- Title : NBA: Los Angeles Clippers - Oklahoma City Thunder
Los Angeles Clippers are scoring 114.8 points per game and allowing opponents to score 108.6 points per game. Opponents are shooting 46.9% against the Clippers defense and 36.3% downtown against the Clippers. The total has finished over in four of the Clippers last five. Los Angeles will have Leonard and George leading the way offensively and will use very little of the shot clock on each possession giving them more opportunities to put points on the board.
Los Angeles is one of the NBA's hottest teams having won each of its last five. Kawhi Leonard is leading the Clippers with an average of 24.9 points per game but close behind is Paul George with an average of 24.4 points per game making it difficult for opponents to focus on stopping either of the two players.
Los Angeles has found a nice groove, and their defense is playing at an elite level, giving up 100 points or fewer in three straight. I’m playing the over here, since it would be somewhat surprising if the Clippers don’t crack 120 at this point. They’ve scored at least 129 in three of their last five, so if the Thunder can just get to 100 I’ll feel pretty good about this over cashing. Oklahoma City has given up at least 119 points in three straight, and even their last couple of wins have been in complete shootouts.Thunder do have a reasonably high offensive ceiling, and they’ve scored at least 127 twice in their last five games.
Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are obviously superstars, but neither of them even has to have a huge night for this offense to put up big numbers. The other night against Indiana they scored 129 despite nobody on the team scoring more than 20, showing how balanced they are. Luke Kennard and Marcus Morris both had 20 in that one.
