It’s hard not to like the Knicks in here. New York is coming off of a disappointing loss at home against the Thunder and I’m not convinced that Denver has turned the corner just yet. The Nuggets’ three wins came against teams hampered by injuries and they actually had a disappointing showing in their last game against the 76ers. Look for New York to bounce back with a strong effort on both ends of the floor and take the Knicks to cover the spread here.
This matchup is strength vs. strength. The Nuggets are an elite offense and the Knicks present a special commitment to defense.
I think New York wins a close game. The Nuggets seem to have turned the corner since their slow start, but they still have a lot of work to do defensively. Even though the Knicks have struggled offensively, they will play well against the Nuggets who gave up 103 points to Philadelphia’s backups on Sunday.
The Nuggets have one of the best offenses in the league, but they are playing on consecutive nights and are facing one of the best defenses in the league, which doesn’t bode well for them. With the Knicks already knocking off the Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz at home, I expect to a good performence again.
Just to clarify, I am not a believer in this Knicks team, though I do believe the organization is heading in the right direction. I’m just confident that New York’s roster makeup will frustrate a tired Nuggets team while simultaneously not being able to score.
Maybe this will be an another stressful game. At this point, I’m just doing it to myself.
