NBA: Utah Jazz - Atlanta Hawks
- Title : NBA: Utah Jazz - Atlanta Hawks
The Jazz have won two of the last three head-to-head meetings with the Hawks and the only game they played last season. They are also 5-0-1 in their last six games played on a Friday /saturday and 5-2 in their last seven overall. Atlanta is only 1-4 in their last five games and in their last 10 road games against teams with a losing home record they are just 2-8.
It’s unlikely that an offensive explosion happens Friday without Bogdanovic and Gallinari. Unders have been profitable in Hawks road games, and I like the trend to continue.
I understand that Atlanta was able to snap their four-game losing streak with a depleted lineup, but that is going to be a lot tougher against a very good Utah Jazz team. Both teams are exceptional on the glass, which negates a big advantage Atlanta has had the season. In this way, Gobert negates Capela if he is even able to go.
Without him, Utah will dominate in the rebounds and will get numerous second and third opportunities for points. Mitchell is playing exceptionally well and Atlanta is simply outmanned in this game. The Jazz roll.
However, the Hawks have put up nearly comparable efficiency numbers while playing a much easier schedule than the Jazz. The Jazz are the better team, they are healthier, and they are playing better basketball than the Hawks as they have won three in a row while the Hawks have lost four of five. Jazz should win this, but Im more into over and under in this game.
Both teams will be shorthanded coming into this one on the perimeter. Atlanta has several players who will be out for tonight including Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and possibly Rajon Rondo. The Jazz will be without Joe Ingles due to right Achilles soreness.
Atlanta has struggled to put up points on the board, managing only 112 against a very depleted Philadelphia 76ers roster and they’ve not scored over the 110-point mark against a full-strength team since New Year’s Day. The under is 6-0 in Atlanta’s last six games and it’s hard to see them crazy against a top 10 defense this evening. Utah takes a lot of pride in defending the ball, the under has landed five times in their last seven home games. They are superior at both defending and rebounding, which should ultimately make the difference in this one. I will take the under.
