Predictions Fotball: Arsenal vs Everton, Premier Leauge
- Title : Predictions Fotball: Arsenal vs Everton, Premier Leauge
Arsenal have won just twice from their last seven matches in all competitions and their awful season continues with a 1-1 draw against Fulham last time out. Everton come here with strong away form being 7-2-1 from their last ten matches on the road and looked to be back to their best with a 2-2 draw against Spurs last time out.
Both Arsenal and Everton have been inconsistent in recent weeks and they are struggling with injuries to key players too. This match could end up with a draw.
In Everton's latest match against Tottenham, I suggested that The Toffees should take at least one point. I do it again now when Everton meet another London club in the form of Arsenal, which is just below them in the table with 3 points less and one match more played. Still, it is Arsenal that the betting companies hold as favorites for victory, while I think this is a completely open meeting.
Both Arsenal and Everton can still, mathematically speaking, take a Champions League place. But then only victories apply in the remaining matches.
Arsenal can not be trusted. This season they have been erratic and had a hard time showing a consistently good form, especially at home, where they have only won 6 times in 16 matches. Most recently, they made a flat home game against bottom side Fulham, where Arsenal smiled under until minute 97 when Eddie Nketiah equalized. It also seems that most preparations are directed towards the semi-finals of the Europa League, where Villarreal are waiting, in the match after the Everton meeting.
Everton's away statistics, on the other hand, are brilliant with 9 wins in 15 away games, where they have only 3 losses. The shape is still not quite on top, but at the same time they are extremely difficult to break down and win against. They have 3 straight crosses behind them. For this match, attacking star Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to return in the starting eleven.
Arsenal can do without David Luiz, Kieran Tierney, Alexandre Lacazette and Martin Ödegaard, due to injuries, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is being treated in hospital after contracting malaria. I see no reason for Arsenal to be allowed to carry the favorite, but think that Everton has at least as great a chance to pick up points, again.
My bet will be that Arsenal do not win the match without ending in a draw or with an Everton victory.
- Everton have drawn their last 3 matches (Premier League).
- Everton are undefeated in 10 of their last 11 away matches (Premier League).
- Arsenal are winless in their last 4 home matches (all competitions).
- Arsenal have drawn their last 2 home matches (all competitions).
- Arsenal are undefeated in their last 23 home matches against Everton since 1996
