Prediction Champions Leauge: Chelsea vs Real Madrid
- Title : Prediction Champions Leauge: Chelsea vs Real Madrid
The first match in Madrid was a score draw of 1-1 and coming to Stamford Bridge with all to play for. Two of the oldest players around are the highest goal scorers playing for both sides with Frenchman Benzema at 33 and Chelsea another Frenchman Giroud being 34 having six goals each in this competition. Giroud has practically ben kept for these games and an old head works wonders. A draw could be resulting with both scoring the once and bringing ninety minutes of play to a close and extra time and penalties appearing.
Real Madrid and Chelsea have been very strong defensively in recent weeks. With so much as stake, this should be another low scoring match with a draw
Due to the away goal rule, it is a big advantage for Chelsea in the return against Real Madrid at home in London, in the Champions League. The team has reached a semifinal, which will be decided at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have a 1-1 result from Madrid and can advance to the final, where Man City or PSG are waiting, by playing goalless. This puts a lot of pressure on Real Madrid who have to chase goals.
Chelsea have reached the semi-finals by beating Atletico Madrid and Porto. In Madrid, Chelsea was the better team, especially at the beginning of the match where Timo Werner burned a lot of positions as usual, before Christian Pulisic netted. Chelsea should have netted significantly more times. Instead, it became an equalizer, signed by Karim Benzema. In the second half, Chelsea were very close to netting again, but the match ended in a draw.
Apart from Mateo Kovacic, Chelsea have all the players available. It is worse in Real Madrid, which once again has major setbacks in the defense where Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez are missing, and that Marcelo and Ferland Mendy are hesitant to start. Federico Valverde is still in quarantine.
Real Madrid are really vulnerable in the defense due to the injuries. It will be extremely difficult to have to attack at the same time and chase a target. Such a strategy can not benefit Real Madrid as Chelsea will take advantage of conversions and counterattacks and punish them.
I think this will be a tight event with both teams looking for weaknesses in the other. I see the game ending in a draw with chances of some goals if the strikers give it their all.
- Real Madrid have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 6 matches
- Chelsea have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 matches
- Chelsea have drawn 2 of their last 4 matches against Real Madrid
