Summary:

Geelong Cats and Richmond Tigers meet in the highlight of AFL Round 17, with two of the heavyweights of the competition going head to head in a blockbuster. It will be a battle of the forward lines with the Tigers' Tom Lynch and Jack Riewoldt down one end, and Tom Hawkins and Gary Rohan down the other. The stronger forward line will win the match for the side. The match is likely to be close fought but the Geelong Cats have the better stats of 1133:781. Richmond Tigers have GD stats of 1001:810

Details:

Geelong (3rd) and Richmond (5th) will face to face today. Both team run a long winless streak, Geelong is strong everywhere, while the Tigers prefer the home ground. Few changes happened in both sides, the most important sub is Tuohy, who will comeback after his injury and will play his 200th AFL match.

Geelong having won their last six matches, the Cats are the side in the competition that is in the box seat heading towards the finals. The Cats have been wide-margin winners against North Melbourne, St Kilda, leaders Port Adelaide and Essendon Bombers and scored hard-fought wins over Adelaide Crows and Western Bulldogs during their run.

Richmond are looking a scary prospect again and that is because we are nearing another Finals campaign for them. This is the time when they do their best work. Queensland is almost their second home, and the Tigers are enjoyin a run of six wins in their last seven. They towelled up Brisbane in Round 10 and, more recently, gave West Coast a good beating in Round 14.

I will be backing Geelong to win this match. They were outstanding last week beating a very good Essendon side by more than sixty scoring over a hundred points. If they play to the same standard it's tough to see them beaten.

My prediction: Geelong Cats
