Summary:

A checked-out and injured Newcastle should find it difficult to hold on to Liverpool in general and Salah in particular in the PL's final round. I'm trying a goal-scoring game.

The King of Liverpool

A Liverpool who have long been declared English league champions have since swayed in their performances. But then you still find such a pang bet last against Chelsea at home when you win 5-3. I hope and believe that Liverpool have one last goal show in them and that Klopp puts a pretty good team on the field anyway. And I mainly expect Salah to start, as he had to step down relatively early last against Chelsea and seemed frustrated that he had to step off goalless.

A goal-hungry and revenge-hungry Salah against an injured Newcastle in the last round of the league sounds like a goal guarantee for the Egyptian in my eyes. Salah probably has too many goals up to the shooting league title but will still want to finish in great style.

My thought is that Salah is a bit upset as he has been quite uneven in his performances lately. 3 shots created against Chelsea but only weak 0.26 xg goals. Before that, however, 0.85 xg goals in the goalless losing match (for his part) against Arsenal. Salah is up three goalless games now and before that he made two against Brighton. Three matches is crazy too long goal drought for Salah and therefore the feeling is that it is broken now.

For Newcastle is a thankful task. Newcastle have done well this season having avoided the bottom battle. But now they have lately become comfortable and have not performed very well at all. Five straight games without a win are up and only one win in the last eight (and then they won against hopeless Bournemouth). They dropped all three last at home against weak Tottenham. And as if all this were not enough: you have a real horror reading in front of you when you examine the team's injury list - where the lack of defensive players in particular is obvious. Team captain and defensive cliff Lascelles out, the same for Lejeune, Schär and Clark. In addition, the defensive-minded midfielders and wear wolves Longstaff and Hayden are highly doubtful, which also applies to fullback Emil Krafth.

No, I have a hard time seeing Newcastle stand on the podium here for Liverpool's offensive.

Prediction: Salah Score anytime
