After breaking free in the city derby, Arsenal FC achieved their next victory. With a 1-0 win in Brighton, the Gunners said goodbye to the table cellar for the time being. The decisive goal was a case for the "golden hand" category.

With their table neighbors from the southern English coastal city, the Gunners initially expected an extremely low-lying opponent, who gave Arsenal the ball, but hardly offered any space. Captain Aubameyang, the only newcomer to start after the Chelsea game, did not get any balls in the front line. In midfield, Arsenal found it extremely difficult to initiate quick attacks, creative moments were nonexistent.

The playful Gunners highlight of the first half was provided by goalkeeper Leno, who took a jumping back pass in the six-yard box, juggled the ball and finally lobbed elegantly over the onrushing Mac Allister (22nd). Forward, however, the Londoners were only dangerous in the first 45 minutes after a set piece, Xhaka missed a good free-kick position (28th). Closer to a break there was even Brighton around ex-Bundesliga professional Groß, who dared to step more and more out of cover as the game progressed and made some promising attacks. Mac Allister fired from distance over the corner (36th), Leno parried against Jahanbakhsh (37th).

Substitution and goal: Lacazette two ball contacts are enough

The first five minutes of the second half alone offered more entertainment value than the very poor first half. Seconds after the restart, after a corner in the Gunners' six-yard area, it burned for a short time (46th), on the other side Sanchez prevented the Arsenal lead after the most beautiful attack of the game against Aubameyang (50th). As a result, Arteta's team stayed on the accelerator and came up with further promising opportunities within a few minutes through Aubameyang (51st, 54th) and Martinelli (52nd).

The opening goal for the guests, which was in the air at this stage, then fell through a lightning joker. Lacazette, who had to make way for Aubameyang despite a goal against Chelsea, was substituted on - and only 35 minutes later the ball was in the Seagulls goal. After an irresistible Saka kick over the right and then a back pass, the Frenchman was criminally free, put the ball in front of the ball with the first ball contact and then finished dry with the second - Arsenal led (66th).
